Summit scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Cranford, 30-27. At the time, the Cougars was ranked 15th in the state, while the Hilltoppers was 46th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Summit, who took down 15th ranked Cranford, 30-27.
The Cougars' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Reggie Green threw for 113 and one touchdown and Chris Folinusz had 46 yards receiving. On the ground Green chipped in 214 yards. John Oblachinski helped Cranford's passing attack out by catching three balls for 29 yards.
Abraham Clark's Tyrone Crutchfield and James Womble have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Mid-State 38 - Raritan in both passing and receiving yards. Crutchfield has thrown for 402 yards this season, while Womble, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 10 catches for 136 yards. Dionisio Roman from Delaware Valley leads the league in rushing with 614 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when North Plainfield takes on the Hilltoppers. As it stands, the Canucks are in sixth, while Summit is in first.
