St. Joseph-Ogden put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts 51-16. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Grey Ghosts are ranked 364th).
St. Joseph-Ogden got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kodey McKinney out in front who threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 21-for-21 passing, and also rushed for 49 yards and one TD. The Spartans also got a significant boost from Logan Umbarger, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 106 yards.
St. Joseph-Ogden's run defense was locked in: Illinois Valley Central could only muster 3.2 yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Brayden Waller stood above the rest.
