Basketball Recap: Canyon Ridge Comes Up Short

Canyon Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Columbia Wildcats, falling 61-41. The matchup marked the Riverhawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Canyon Ridge lost, don't look at Mason Hill. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points and six rebounds.

Columbia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Hansen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Hansen is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Deleon, who posted ten points.

Canyon Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Columbia, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Canyon Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-48 defeat against McCall-Donnelly on the 14th. As for Columbia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-53 loss against Eagle on the 14th.
