Baseball Recap: Converse Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Parkway, Converse was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Florien Blackcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

The result came thanks to Mavrick Mitchell's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Justin Reed and Riley Norman did most of the damage at the plate: Reed got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run, while Norman went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Reed a new career-high.

Converse's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Florien, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Converse didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-4 victory against North Webster on the 6th. As for Florien, they have also already played their next matchup, a 19-8 loss against Stanley on the 2nd.
