Clay City is 9-1 against Eastern Greene since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eels will venture away from home to challenge the Thunderbirds at 5:30 p.m. Eastern Greene took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Clay City, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Clay City got the win against North Knox by a conclusive 10-1. The Eels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Logan Stoelting made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Stoelting was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Reed Sawyer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Mason Sheese was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Clay City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Eastern Greene came up short against Orleans on Saturday, falling 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Thunderbirds have suffered against the Bulldogs since May 16, 2015.

Eastern Greene saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Whitfield, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Clay City and bumps their season record up to 7-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Eastern Greene, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-5.
