Game recap: Serrano doesn't need many points to defeat Centennial

Serrano (Phelan, Calif.) and Centennial (Compton, Calif.) both received superb games from their defenses, but Serrano was able to break through the stalemate for a 14-0 win.

The Diamondbacks scored on a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown to secure the victory.

Serrano was up 7-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Daniel Epperson touchdown pass to DeAndre Williams in the second quarter.

With the win SHS extended its winning streak to five games. The Phelan school defeated the Bulldogs 28-13 last week.



Lee Hogan stood out for the Diamondbacks in the win. He ran for one touchdown and kicked one extra point.

Serrano (5-0) goes up against Victor Valley in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Centennial (1-4) locks horns with North in a Pioneer game.
