Basketball Recap: Sands Gets the Win

Sands waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 63-62 W against the Whiteface Antelopes. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Antelopes are ranked 655th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sands' win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Whiteface, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Sands and Slaton will round out the year against one another at 10:30 a.m. on the 29th. As for Whiteface, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seagraves at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026. This will be the Antelopes' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
