Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Manchester

While Manchester's victory against Tuslaw wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 6-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-1 on Tuesday.

Rachel Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alli Hodgkinson, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Saige Rankin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Manchester's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tuslaw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Coming up, Manchester will face off against Triway at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tuslaw, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
