Preview: Clearview Pioneers vs. Brick Township Green Dragons
The Clearview Pioneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Brick Township Green Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clearview will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Clearview owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 28-0 win over Hightstown at home. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Clearview had established a 21 point advantage.
Obrian Brown went supernova for Clearview, rushing for 260 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Brown hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Meanwhile, Brick Township had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 31-7 margin over Steinert.
Brick Township can attribute much of their success to Jayden Johnson, who gained 114 total yards and a touchdown, and Travis Trempy, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards.
Brick Township's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Trempy and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Clearview to 3-6 and Brick Township to 5-5.
