Baseball Recap: Parkway South Beats Hazelwood West for Their Fourth Straight Win

Parkway South got themselves on the board against Hazelwood West on Tuesday, but Hazelwood West never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Wildcats. The Patriots not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st (when they won 15-1).

Jordan Schneider made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Schneider wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Hurst, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Andy Hertlein was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Parkway South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hazelwood West only posted a batting average of .227.

The victory (which was Parkway South's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hazelwood West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Looking ahead, Parkway South will face off against Parkway Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hazelwood West, they will take on Northwest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
