Basketball Recap: Pleasant Valley Vikings vs. Enterprise Hornets
The Pleasant Valley Vikings entered their tilt with the Enterprise Hornets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pleasant Valley took down the Hornets 68-49 on Friday. Given Pleasant Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Hornets are ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cam Bussey was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Martin, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Enterprise lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dashawn Townsend, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Townsend has scored all season. Wes Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Enterprise struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pleasant Valley pushed their record up to 18-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Enterprise, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pleasant Valley will take on the Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shasta is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Enterprise, they will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
