Volleyball Recap: Davidson Day Patriots vs. Asheville Christian Academy Lions
With a playoff game on the line, Davidson Day rose to the challenge on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Asheville Christian Academy Lions. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Davidson Day was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-21, 25-27, 25-16, 15-11.
Halle Horton paced Davidson Day's offense, picking up 23 kills. Horton got some help from
Deanna Fiore and her 24 assists. Horton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
