Wynot and Ponca are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2020, but not for long. The Blue Devils will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Indians. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Ponca will be up against a hot Wynot squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Blue Devils came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Elmwood-Murdock.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Wynot got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 19-25, 25-18.

Wynot's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenna Oligmueller led the charge by getting 17 digs and 12 kills. Oligmueller has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 25 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylin Geisen, who had 25 digs and three assists.
Meanwhile, Ponca posted their closest win since September 20th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wakefield, sneaking past 3-2. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Ponca was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 21-25, 21-25, 25-16, 15-10.
Wynot's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Ponca, their victory bumped their record up to 10-13.
Wynot came out on top in a nail-biter against Ponca in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
