Baseball Recap: Athens Bible Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Athens Bible couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the South Lamar Stallions by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stallions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Friday.

This is the second loss in a row for Athens Bible and nudges their season record down to 18-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for South Lamar, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-11.

While Athens Bible had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
