Basketball Recap: Lausanne Collegiate Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Marion Brewer and Zuri Mcclure

If Lausanne Collegiate was riding high fresh off their 77-42 takedown of Trezevant last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lausanne Collegiate Lynx received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 64-47 to the Christian Brothers Purple Wave. While losing is never fun, the Lynx can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Purple Wave are ranked 40th).

Lausanne Collegiate's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Zuri Mcclure, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points, and Marion Brewer, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Brewer a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cailan Jackson, who posted six points.

Lausanne Collegiate has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Christian Brothers, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lausanne Collegiate will welcome First Assembly Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lausanne Collegiate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Christian Brothers, they will look to defend their home court on January 14th against Memphis Home Education Association at 7:30 p.m.
