Basketball Recap: Laurel Skates Past High Point with Ease

Laurel entered their tilt with High Point on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the High Point Eagles 89-62. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Laurel to victory were Jermaine Taylor and Gilbert Osafo. Taylor went 8 for 17 on his way to 21 points along with six boards and three blocks, while Osafo dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Taylor's morning made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Christian Coates was another key player, putting up ten points.

Laurel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for High Point, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Laurel will host Bladensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for High Point, they will head out to square off against Parkdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
