Basketball Recap: North Stafford Takes a Loss

North Stafford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 54-34 to the Stafford Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-16 last Thursday.

Stafford found their leader in freshman Olivia Ferguson, who dropped a triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 steals. Ferguson is becoming a predictor of Stafford's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 11-4 (and 1-2 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Sanaa Jenkins, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points and seven boards.

North Stafford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Stafford, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

North Stafford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-21 loss against Mountain View on the 7th. As for Stafford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-33 defeat against Massaponax on the 7th.
