Softball Game Preview: Jarrell Cougars vs. Taylor Ducks

The Jarrell Cougars will head out to challenge the Taylor Ducks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Jarrell after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They haven't had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

LAYA R PADILLA was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. PEYTON GOUGLER was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Taylor came up short against Lampasas on Tuesday and fell 4-1.

Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16-1. As for Jarrell, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16-4.

Everything went Jarrell's way against Taylor when the teams last played back in March, as Jarrell made off with a 9-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
