Baseball Recap: Redmond Victorious

Redmond lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Interlake, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's matchup. Redmond put the hurt on Interlake with a sharp 16-2 win on Saturday. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 4-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Brandon Dayberry looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Lance Burt and Cavin Bowmer did most of the damage at the plate: Burt scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Bowmer scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Burt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Heath, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Redmond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Interlake only posted an OBP of .318.

Redmond's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Interlake, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Redmond wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Juanita on the 18th. As for Interlake, they have also already played their next game, a 12-1 loss against Sammamish on the 18th.
