Basketball Recap: Valley Extends Winning Streak to Four

Albuquerque Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Valley proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Albuquerque Academy Chargers 40-38. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Chargers back in February, they had to take a 50-47 defeat.

Leading Valley to victory were Carter Monroe and Angelito Villa. Monroe posted nine points and six boards, while Villa went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Valley, bringing their record for this year to 14-14. As for Albuquerque Academy, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-8.

Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-48 victory against Lovington on the 8th. As for Albuquerque Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-57 win against Grants on the 8th.
