Recap: Stanberry Bulldogs vs. St. Joseph Christian Lions
On Friday, The Stanberry Bulldogs faced the St. Joseph Christian Lions in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Stanberry ended up on the wrong side of a tough 28-8 walloping at the hands of St. Joseph Christian. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, Stanberry couldn't push the score so high this time.
Colby Mcqueen threw for 64 yards and a touchdown. Treston Williams was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Peyton Hausman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Hausman is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Stanberry has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for St. Joseph Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Stanberry will be playing in front of their home fans against King City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. King City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. St. Joseph Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop LeBlond at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Bishop LeBlond is ranked 14th, while St. Joseph Christian is ranked 12th).
