It was a good run, but San Juan unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

San Juan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nache Young, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

San Juan's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Gunnison Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: San Juan beat Gunnison Valley by a score of 12-9 later that day.
