Recap: Forge Christian Fury vs. Manual Thunderbolts

The Forge Christian Fury waltzed into their game on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 73-63 victory over Manual. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

It was another big night for Owen Hovis, who scored 31 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Clark, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Manual still got an impressive performance from Marquell Marquez, who scored 33 points along with two steals. Marquez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nigel Jones was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Manual struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Forge Christian's victory was their 13th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Manual, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2.

Forge Christian will head out on the road to square off against Colorado Springs Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Colorado Springs Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Manual, they will be playing at home against Thomas MacLaren School at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Thomas MacLaren School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Manual is ranked 49th).
