Baseball Recap: Gaffney Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Gaffney hadn't done well against Riverside recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Indians walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Warriors. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Brody Bright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sam Carroll was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Scout Gilfillan also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Gaffney's victory bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Riverside, they dropped their record down to 11-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Gaffney will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
