Giltner posted their closest win since September 11th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Pleasanton Bulldogs. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (103-102) Giltner actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 17-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Peyton Schutt paced Giltner's offense, picking up 18 kills. Schutt got some help from Avery Reeson and her 32 assists. Finally, Kalie Cady and Kailyn Wilson kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked four attacks.

Giltner now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Pleasanton, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Giltner didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Overton on the 30th. As for Pleasanton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Exeter-Milligan/Friend on the 27th.
