Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Wildcats vs. Middleton Vikings

The Columbia Wildcats will square off against the Middleton Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Columbia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Middleton likes a good challenge.

Columbia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 69-62 victory over Vallivue. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Middleton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past the Bulldogs 62-39. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Columbia's record is now 13-9. As for Middleton, their record now sits at 15-7.

Columbia came up short against Middleton in their previous meeting back in January, falling 67-63. Can Columbia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
