Volleyball Recap: Lake Minneola's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Lake Minneola was the 3-0 winner over The Villages Charter when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks fell 2-0 to the Buffalo on Saturday. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Camila Antosanti-Soto paced Lake Minneola's offense, picking up six kills. Antosanti-Soto got some help from Viktorya Odrzywolski and her 20 assists. Antosanti-Soto was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Reese Bryan was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 11 assists and eight digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six games.

Lake Minneola's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for The Villages Charter, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Lake Minneola wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against East Ridge on the 6th. As for The Villages Charter, they will face off against Timber Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
