Baseball Recap: Fayette Takes a Loss

Fayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 7-1 to the Harrisburg Bulldogs. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Payton Oeth was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Harrisburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Fayette will venture away from home to face off against Linn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harrisburg, they will take on Tipton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
