Football Recap: Maclay Comes Up Short

Maclay and Trinity Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Maclay had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Conquerors 56-28. The Marauders lost against the Conquerors in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 28-21 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Maclay lost, don't look at Henry Richardson. Despite the final result, he picked up 207 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Maclay has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Maclay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will face off against University Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Christians will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
