Preview: Wiregrass Ranch Bulls vs. Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars
After two games on the road, Wiregrass Ranch is heading back home. They will take on the Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wiregrass Ranch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Academy of the Holy Names is ranked 77th).
Last Tuesday, Wiregrass Ranch was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-36 to Mitchell.
In what's become a running theme this season, Academy of the Holy Names gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Carrollwood Day 63-25 at home. Winning may never get old, but Academy of the Holy Names sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Lucy Morey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with eight steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Grace Gavin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Wiregrass Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Academy of the Holy Names, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Wiregrass Ranch took a serious blow against Academy of the Holy Names in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 60-21. Thankfully for Wiregrass Ranch, Jayda Pinder (who scored 15 points along with seven steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
