Basketball Game Preview: Ridgevue Warhawks vs. Borah Lions

Ridgevue hasn't had much luck against Borah recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Ridgevue Warhawks will take on the Borah Lions at 7:30 p.m. Ridgevue will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Saturday, Ridgevue got the win against McCall-Donnelly by a conclusive 46-25. The Warhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Myra Martinez had a dynamite game for Ridgevue, going 6 for 12 on her way to 20 points. Martinez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Hollund Miller was another key player, putting up seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Borah faced Mountain Home in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Borah escaped with a win against Mountain Home by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39.

Borah is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Ridgevue, their record now sits at 9-4.

Ridgevue suffered a grim 59-38 defeat to Borah when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can Ridgevue avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
