Basketball Recap: Parowan Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Parowan unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 52-16 defeat at the hands of the Water Canyon Wildcats on Thursday. The Rams have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Joann Barlow was nothing short of spectacular for Water Canyon: she almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Tammy Johnson, who shot 60% from the field on her way to 14 points.

The victory got Water Canyon back to even at 1-1.

Parowan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-8 loss against Escalante on the 21st. As for Water Canyon, they will face off against El Capitan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
