Softball Recap: Tenino Gets the Win

Tenino barely beat King's Way Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Beavers put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 11-3 win on Monday. The Beavers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 23, 2024 (when they won 13-3).

Chloe Grayless made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kylie Gonia and Georgia Gore did most of the damage at the plate: Gonia went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Gore got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most runs Gonia has posted since back in March. Jaeleen Woodward also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Tenino's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-14. As for King's Way Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tenino will square off against Onalaska at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for King's Way Christian, they will face off against Seton Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
