Porterville is 9-0 against Mt. Whitney since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Porterville Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Mt. Whitney Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Porterville's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Diamante on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Miners are ranked 604th).

Meanwhile, Mt. Whitney kept a clean sheet against Monache on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Marauders out 1-0.

Porterville's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1-3 and their overall record down to 15-3-4. As for Mt. Whitney, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5-2 and their overall record up to 6-7-6.

Porterville beat Mt. Whitney by a goal in their previous matchup back in January, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Porterville since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
