Preview: Barker Bulldogs vs. Medina Mustangs
The Barker Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Medina Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-33, which was the final score in Barker's tilt against Newfane back in January. While losing is never fun, Barker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 698th, while Newfane is ranked 169th).
Meanwhile, Medina's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 50-41 to Albion.
Justin Pitts put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 17 points along with four steals. Jerrell Nealy was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Barker and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Medina, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.
Barker came up short against Medina in their previous meeting back in January, falling 59-55. Can Barker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
