Basketball Game Preview: Carthage Tigers vs. Lebanon Yellowjackets

The Carthage Tigers will face off against the Lebanon Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. The matchup between Carthage and Republic didn't end well, with Carthage falling 39-24. The game marked Carthage's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Lebanon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt an 82-34 loss at the hands of Kickapoo. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Chiefs are ranked eighth).

Lebanon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Carthage, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-12.

Carthage barely slipped by Lebanon in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, winning 57-56. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lebanon's Raegan Mccowan, who went 11-for-20 on her way to 25 points and seven boards. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Carthage to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
