Basketball Recap: Calvert Takes a Loss

Calvert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 81-58 to the Northern Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Patriots are ranked 108th).

Bryce Robinson had a dynamite game for Northern, going 10 for 18 on his way to 27 points and five steals. Robinson is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Calvert's loss dropped their record down to 1-14-1. As for Northern, they moved to 9-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Calvert has already played their next match, a 71-33 defeat against Great Mills on the 24th. As for Northern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-54 win against La Plata on the 24th.
