Recap: Belton-Honea Path Bears vs. Greenville H Hurricanes
The Belton-Honea Path Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 59-41 bruising from Greenville H. While losing is never fun, Belton-Honea Path can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Greenville H is ranked 44th).
Greenville H's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emery Lindsey, who scored 13 points along with seven steals. The matchup was Lindsey's third in a row with at least ten points. Keely Price was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Belton-Honea Path's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Greenville H, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belton-Honea Path won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fountain Inn at 2:00 p.m. on December 17th. Fountain Inn will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Greenville H will be home for the holidays to greet Southside Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Southside Christian: 28.8, Greenville H: 28.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
