Basketball Game Preview: Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers vs. Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades

The Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers will face off against the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Newman Grove/St. Edward and three for Chambers/Wheeler Central.

On Tuesday, Newman Grove/St. Edward was beaten by Archangels Catholic 63-33. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Defenders are ranked 104th).

Meanwhile, Chambers/Wheeler Central played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 52-28 to Niobrara/Verdigre.

Defeat or not, Chambers/Wheeler Central got some senior leadership from Annabel Waldo and Ella Moses. Waldo posted 13 points, while Moses scored eight points.

Chambers/Wheeler Central now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Newman Grove/St. Edward, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
