Wesson owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against the Lumberton Panthers by a score of 7-0. The Cobras haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

BP Robbins threw for 26 yards. Damarion Smith was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards.

Wesson's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lumberton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wesson will venture away from home to face off against Lawrence County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cobras will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lumberton, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Perry Central at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
