Softball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

Manchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-4 to the RHAM Raptors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raptors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 on Wednesday.

Manchester's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for RHAM, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manchester will challenge East Hartford at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.75 runs per game on average), something the Red Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for RHAM, they will square off against South Windsor at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Raptors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
