Basketball Recap: New Hampton Takes a Loss

New Hampton lost against Decorah-North Winneshiek back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The New Hampton Chickasaws took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Chickasaws can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Vikings are ranked 97th).

New Hampton is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Hampton has already played their next matchup (against North Butler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Decorah-North Winneshiek will face off against West Delaware at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
