Basketball Recap: Vestaburg Takes a Loss

Vestaburg lost against Fowler back in March of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Vestaburg Wolverines fell just short of the Fowler Eagles by a score of 58-55. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 478th, while the Eagles are ranked 104th).

This is the second loss in a row for Vestaburg and nudges their season record down to 12-9. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.5 points. As for Fowler, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Vestaburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fowler, they will face off against Breckenridge at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
