Basketball Recap: Wood River Comes Up Short

Wood River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 51-34 to the Buhl Indians. The contest marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Wood River saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Max Fife posted 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Fife. Dylan Schubert was another key player, putting up seven points.

Wood River's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Buhl, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Wood River will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Teton at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Buhl will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Fruitland at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
