Recap: Tug Valley Panthers vs. Tyler Knights
On Friday, it was close, but Tug Valley sidestepped Tyler for a 28-26 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tug Valley.
Tug Valley found their leader in underclassman Bryson Elia, who rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 103 yards and a touchdown. Elia was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Slone, who gained 104 total yards and a touchdown.
Tug Valley's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Ashton Davis and Buddy Marcum who racked up six sacks between them.
Tug Valley pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Tyler, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.
Tug Valley will head out on the road to face off against Tucker County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tucker County will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. Tyler does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
