1. Tigers Keep Winning: This was supposed to be the year that South Panola's (Miss.) winning streak ended. It still might be, but so far, the Tigers have not missed a beat, advancing to the 5A state semifinals after a 21-14 victory over Northwest Rankin (Miss.)

The bigger story is South Panola's opponent, Madison Central, who knocked off Olive Branch 50-49 in a triple overtime thriller. The game featured 13 touchdowns and several near misses. One snap after taking a knee near midfield with time running out in regulation and the score tied 29-29, Olive Branch ran a hook and ladder that brought them all the way to the two-yard line before Keyshun Shipp was knocked out of bounds.

Todd Kelly has all the details of this wild Magnolia State affair.

2. Rematch Weekend: As many states move deeper into the playoffs, the stars are aligning for several prominent rematches around the country.

In South Carolina, Dorman vs. Byrnes II is a hot topic. Dorman upset the Rebels earlier this season and neither team has faltered since.

A convincing quarterfinal victory by Jesuit (Ore.) means the Crusaders will meet up with Lake Oswego for a rematch of an earlier thriller broadcast nationally by CBS College Sports in Oregon.

Center Grove (Ind.) blasted traditional state power Ben Davis to advance to the Indiana 5A state finals, where the team will get a second chance at Morgan Newton and the Carmel Greyhounds, who defeated Center Grove 33-32 earlier this year.

3. Young Breaks Pennsylvania Rushing Record: As of Friday afternoon, Pennsylvania has a new all-time leading rusher.

Steelton-Highspire's Jeremiah Young rattled off 138 yards in a victory over Camp Hill to give him an astounding 8,506 yards for his career.

So far in his career Young, who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 190 pouns, has carried the football a mindboggling 1,106 times.

"It feels so good to have the record at a small school in a small town where the people always have your back," Young told PennLive.com. "And we still have some games left to play where I can add to it and, hopefully, have enough where it can stand forever."

4. Sideline Clearing Brawl Sacks Playoff Hopes: In Florida, one high school is paying the price for an on-field altercation.

Nature Coast, a 3A school that was bound for the playoffs, had to foreit its opening round playoff match-up, effectively ending the team's season. The school was also fined over $10,000.

The brawl between Nature Coast and its opponent South Lake erupted in the fourth quarter when the field lights stopped working.

Apparently, there are many layers to the story, including police charges against players and a coach. For the full story, see The St. Petersburg Times.

5. Texas Two-Step: After the first week of the season, if someone would have said that Plano (Texas) would be out of the playoffs before Thanksgiving while Katy was still around, who would have believed it?

Euless Trinity 42, Plano 35

Katy 51, Humble 10
