Football Recap: Berkeley Yellowjackets vs. Castro Valley Trojans

Berkeley blew Castro Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Castro Valley got their revenge. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 41-38. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was CHRISTOPHER DEVITO, who threw for 222 yards and four touchdowns. DAILEN CLARK was in the mix as well, providing Berkeley with two scores.

Castro Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Castaneda out in front who rushed for 56 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. Castaneda showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 57 yards. Another player making a difference was Lazarus Jones, who rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

Berkeley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Castro Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Coincidentally, Berkeley and Castro Valley will both be playing Tennyson the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Yellowjackets will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th.
