Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lamar). Everything went their way against Pinkston on Saturday as Lamar made off with a 22-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what Lamar needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Lamar got a massive performance out of Leila Bajenaru, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits Bajenaru has posted since back in March of 2024. Sonia Vargas was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lamar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lamar moved to 5-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Pinkston, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Lamar has already played their next game, a 14-3 defeat against Ferris on the 1st. As for Pinkston, they will be playing at home against Carter at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinkston has given up an average of 15.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
