Softball Recap: Irmo Falls to American Leadership Academy in First Game of Season

Irmo unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the American Leadership Academy Patriots on Saturday, falling 10-3. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

The win got American Leadership Academy back to even at 2-2-1.

Irmo will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Aiken at 7:15 p.m. on March 11th. As for American Leadership Academy, they will be playing at home against Horse Creek Academy at 7:15 p.m. on March 10th. American Leadership Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
