Volleyball Recap: Columbus East Triumphs

Columbus East's tournament run continued when they took on Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on Saturday. The Olympians walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Olympians.

Anika Jenkins paced Columbus East's offense, picking up four kills. Jenkins got some help from Kenlee Gault and her seven assists. Krea Martin controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kayla DeFluiter, who had ten assists and three digs, and MJ Brell, who had five assists and four digs.

The win got Columbus East back to even at 9-9. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Columbus East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Lapel on the 13th. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Alexandria-Monroe on the 13th.
